We're starting to reopen and what better way than to welcome back Peter Gill, now fully recovered from his incredible 24-hour non-stop music marathon here last September raising an astonishing £10,000 to be shared between the Playhouse and Help Musicians UK. He's a legend as far as the theatre is concerned so it's perfectly proper that Peter's show this time is entitled PIANO LEGENDS - two hours of his favourite songs made famous by rock and pop’s best piano players and performers.
Some of those that he will pay tribute to include Jerry Lee Lewis, Ray Charles, Little Richard, Georgie Fame, Elton John, Billy Joel, Alan Price, Stevie Wonder, Dr John, Professor Longhair, and Chas n Dave. He'll be joined by the equally brilliant Good Time Charlies to perform songs such as Great Balls of Fire, Blueberry Hill, Nut Rocker, Bumble Boogie, Good Golly Miss Molly, Piano Man, Superstition, Crocodile Rock, What I’d Say, Root Beer Rag, Tutti Frutti, The Ballad of Bonnie and Clyde and Ray Charles’ Mess Around.
This is a ‘full throttle’ night and one in which no two performances are the same!
Important Information: we will not know until June 14 if theatres will be able to remove restrictions on social distancing from June 21 (it may be that while distancing is removed, face coverings could still be required for a while longer). We are therefore selling this show as socially distanced for now but will release other seats for sale on June 15 if we are permitted.
A maximum of 66 seats is available in our socially-distanced auditorium using a fixed seating plan that offers a mix of single seats, pairs, threes and fours based on likely audience appeal; however, the seats are grouped so that it is not possible to book three seats from a group of four to try to maximise capacity to ensure events are viable.
While online booking is preferred, the box office has reopened for telephone callers Tues - Fri from 10 am - 4 pm.
One wheelchair seat plus carer is available - please contact box office directly to book these seats or email [email protected]
