Macbeth

22 January - 24 January
Macbeth

Written by William Shakespeare
Adapted & Directed by Alexander Gatherer

"Screw your courage to the sticking place."

Macbeth is a haunted man. Recently returned from battle, echoes of his recent past begin to appear before him - refusing to let him escape from the horrors he's witnessed, but rather dragging him further down into deeper bloodshed. Spurred on by a power-hungry wife, it is not long before those around Macbeth become suspicious of him, and treachery looms in every shadow.

This daring new production transports Shakespeare's classic tale into a fear-ridden 21st century.

Presented by Cheltenham College as their annual Scholar's Play, this event showcases the College's premier acting talent in a rare production open to the public.
