Jay is an Oscar winning actor about to lead in a new play that connects his Irish roots. Leigh is the play's director, convinced this could be his chance of a lifetime. Ruth is the Northern Irish playwright whose voice needs to be heard. They all meet one night to discuss the play's challenges and provocations.
Confrontational, brutally funny and not for the faint hearted, Ulster American examines consent, abuses of power, the confusions of cultural identity, quickly escalating to an unexpected climax.
