Growth was first performed at the Edinburgh festival in 2016 and was an instant smash hit. It received a Fringe First award for outstanding theatre, has been on two tours of the UK and has been staged at the Gate Theatre, London.
The central character, Tobin, is a young man whose life is transformed when his girlfriend dumps him and his employer sacks him. His biggest problem, however, is that he has a medical issue of a particularly private nature which is affecting his sex life. The time has come for pants to be dropped and decisions to be made.
Growth is a bittersweet comedy by Luke Norris who tackles an important subject with wit and humour. One critic wrote ' Growth is a gripping and deeply moving play with elements of comedy. it is a testament to brilliant sensitive writing. This play is the toast of Edinburgh.'
Director John Shirley has assembled a fine young cast to tackle this challenging play, all of whom are past or present members of Theatre Studio. Their aim is to make Growth the toast of Cheltenham. A production not to be missed.
